This means that they tune out harmful harmonics as and when they occur, rather than rubber bonded types which are only tuned to a specific frequency. This version of the Rattler damper exclusive to Knight Racing Services, is lighter than other safety dampers, and contains active 'pucks' which are tuned specifically to the frequencies created by racing 289 engines. THERE IS NO OTHER DAMPER ON THE MARKET SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR THE FORD 289 ENGINE. It has been developed over 20 years of producing race winning 289 Ford engines. It helps improve performance, reduce likelihood of crankshaft or block failure and enhance engine life. The damper can, and should be stripped for servicing at engine rebuild intervals to ensure top performance. 3 Bolt fixing as correct for Pre -65 FIA 289 Ford, and internally balanced.
