V8 PARTS
The legendary Ford Small Block has made racing history since its introduction in the early 1960’s. Its success has ranged from its use in the Cobra, TVR, Ford GT40, Ginetta, McLaren M1, Lola T70 MK1, Ford Falcon, Mustang and Shelby GT350, right through to NASCAR and the Saleen S7R of the new Millennium. An impressive record and a salute to its designers and the Ford Motor Company. Thanks to people like us, at Knight Racing Services Ltd, the Ford V8 engine is still at the forefront of historic racing right up to current times. Motor manufacturers have started to value their heritage and Ford are leading the way, allowing companies like ours to make parts and help power their iconic cars to the winners circle at such great events as the Goodwood Revival, Goodwood Members’ Meeting, the Spa 6 hours, the FIA Historic Sportscar Championship, and the Oldtimer Grand Prix, which our Ford engines have won, and still win, after over twenty years in the business. Every year, our team develop new products and re-manufacture parts to keep these historic Ford powered cars racing and winning. We have now achieved the enviable record that our Ford 289 and 427 engines have won every race and championship in the historic racing calendar. We help keep Ford number one in the winners circle, now, as in the past.
Whilst the Ford Small block Windsor, Boss, and SVO engine are well supported in open class racing by both Ford Performance and the aftermarket, the 289 cubic inch engine itself has remained the domain of specialist suppliers like us, as European racing requires cars to be raced in the spirit of the period that they were racing. Whilst in America, it is easy to build a small block engine of 7 litres and maybe 700 BHP using Ford Performance and / or aftermarket parts, in Europe, our racing must use the original capacity engine raced in period.
